The Honorable Mark A. Troncone, J.S.C. (Ret.) brings over four decades of legal excellence to JJJ Law Firm as Of Counsel, following a distinguished career as a Superior Court Judge in Ocean County, New Jersey. Appointed to the bench in 2009 by Governor Jon Corzine, Judge Troncone served with unwavering dedication until his retirement in 2024, culminating as the Presiding Chancery Judge for the Ocean County Vicinage.
In 2019, Judge Troncone was appointed by Chief Justice Rabner as the lead judge for the Court’s Mount Laurel Committee. In that role, Judge Troncone, together with his colleagues, oversaw the successful implementation of the Supreme Court’s ruling in Mount Laurel IV for the Third Round cycle. In the Ocean Vicinage, he settled all 13 contested matters.
Before ascending to the bench, Judge Troncone built a successful private practice career, including partnerships at notable firms such as King, Kitrick, Jackson & Troncone in Brick, New Jersey. He also served the public as an elected official on the Ocean County Board of Commissioners, as Township Attorney, and as Director of Community Development for Tom’s River, gaining valuable insight into municipal governance, land use, and real estate law.
Judge Troncone holds a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law (1985), a Master of Science in City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University (1984), and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from Furman University (1981). His comprehensive educational background complements his practical legal skills, making him exceptionally well-equipped to navigate today’s complex legal landscape.
Since retiring from the bench, Judge Troncone has also achieved status as a Qualified Mediator under New Jersey Court Rule 1:40, enabling him to assist clients in resolving disputes through alternative dispute resolution methods.
